Thanks to everyone who came out for our first meeting at Calix tonight. We met new friends, discussed future endeavors, and drank some delicious java.

SEMO BLOGGERS FIRST MEETING IS APPROACHING!
Don't forget everyone! SEMO Bloggers first meeting will be on Monday, July 11th at 6pm at Calix coffeebar on Broadway. Bring your laptop if you'd like, and a little cash-ola if you want to eat dinner. Calix will have soups and sandwiches available, and also delicious coffee :)
The purpose of this first meeting is to get to know each other a bit, take down each other's info i.e. Twitter accounts, websites, etc, and to discuss blogging goals.
If you have a friend who is an avid blog reader but doesn't yet have a blog themselves, bring em' along! We'd love to meet them and also help them start their own blog if they're interested!
This weekend I'll be putting up posters in local business around town, so look for those as well.
I hope everyone has a great 4th of July! Can't wait to see your blog pictures of how you celebrate!

Basic Geocaching Class
I (Emily) am putting together a small "Geocaching for Dummies" Class this Friday at 5pm. We will be meeting up at the start of the bike trail at the Osage Center. I know a lot of people that don't know what Geocaching is so I'm going to take a few hours and teach people about Geocaching. If anyone would like to join I would love to have a group to go with me.
I am planning on doing a few geocache along the Bike Trail in Cape Girardeau. We will be learning how to do the following:
-finding a good cache for you
-how to operate your GPS
-how to read the description and hints to help find the geocache
-supplies you might need for different geocache
-what to do if/when you find the geocache
-how to leave to geocache
-CITO (Cache in Trash Out)
-rules for geocaching
-basic guidelines for geocache
-types of geocache

You will need to have or bring the following:
-water (it may be hot so bring lots of water to hydrate yourself)
-good walking shoes, there will be some walking involved
-if you have a car GPS you are welcome to bring that. I have my iPhone 4 as well as my car GPS.
-a good sense of adventure and a good attitude

SEMO BLOGGERS FIRST MEETING!
Hello All! Just wanted to send a quick update that we have decided when and where our first meeting will be held. We will meet on Monday, July 11th at Calix Coffee Bar on Broadway from 6-7ish pm. The purpose of this first meeting will be to get each other's blog information, introduce ourselves, and discuss what we would like to learn in the upcoming meetings. We are also interested in finding out what activities each blogger is involved in so we can support each other. If you've got a 5K coming up or if your church is having a VBS and you need volunteers, LET US KNOW! We want to support each other not only with our blogging but with our daily activities and interests as well.
Feel free to bring your laptop, also pen and paper for writing down other bloggers info. Calix Coffee Bar will have soups and sandwiches available if you're hungry....and the coffee is AMAZING as well so get excited!

Bloggers Conference Planning Meeting
Hi Everyone! Just wanted to let you know that Emily and I will be meeting next week to go over a few things for the SEMO Bloggers Conference we are planning on having this summer. Our goal for SEMO Bloggers is that bloggers, or even blog readers, can come together and share ideas or inspiration that one might have for writing. We would like to eventually have designated professionals come to meetings and share tips with the group as well. To help us with our planning, I have a few questions that I'm hoping you'll help me answer.
1. What are some of your favorite blogs, and what about those blogs keeps you coming back to read more?
2. If you are a blogger, is there an aspect of blogging that you could use some help with? Examples could be graphic design, grammatical skills, post promotion, etc?
3. We are planning to have our first meeting this summer at either a local coffee shop or in a church meeting room. Do weekends or weeknights work best for you to get away for about 2 hours?
Answering these questions will greatly help with our planning, so thanks in advance for taking the time to contribute! Keep checking the site for updates, we hope to have a date set soon!

Welcome everyone to SEMO Bloggers!
This blog is for everyone interested in the blogging world. We (Leslie and Emily) are here to help in anyway that we can and we are also here to discuss everything about blogs and blogging.
